To Aussie children’s book creators.
YABBA council came up with the idea to organise a virtual channel as a means of distraction for the children doing it tough in the hard lockdown commission towers.
After consulting with various bodies including school principals, we believe the following would be of most benefit. We are asking for children’s authors and illustrators to make a short video recording of their book (or a favourite book) to help keep kids in lockdown engaged and entertained. We are wanting books that would appeal to young (primary school aged) children.
Please introduce yourself, mention the creators (author/illustrator), read the book (or a section if it is a slightly longer book for older children) and include a message of hope.
The books and messages can be serious or silly or anything in between. Keep the reading/recording short and snappy. We want diverse books that kids will love. With your consent, we will also share them with children in other lockdown areas.
We need the videos today or at the latest tomorrow. They don’t need to be of professional quality.
Please upload your recording to Google Drive or similar cloud storage system and email the link (or any questions) to Cazgoodwin0@gmail.com
